I love this show!

Did I say Train Job was bad? I take it back! I love the scene at the bar -- Mal's comment on losing because they're outnumbered, Zoe remarking that it's a reenactment, except this time, unlike Serenity Valley, the cavalry (spaceships?) arrive in the form of Serenity! Small and subtle touch that I enjoyed. Plus, there's that awesome moment at the end when Mal kicks the guy into the engine. Not as startling this time around, but during the premiere, I wasn't that entranced by the episode, and that moment made me sit up and realize this was a Joss show.

I don't know why Firefly's hitting so strongly again -- I think it has to do with the fact that they're adults. I love that in Angel too. And while I can see resemblences to Buffy -- Wash as a kind of grown up Xander, Kaylee and Willow, and Simon and early Wes -- the crew are all very much themselves. And I enjoy the fuzziness of the morality and that they're just trying to keep flying. Loved the end of Serenity, when Simon is questioning Mal's good-ish mood: "We're still flying" "That's not much" "It's enough"

And I adore Simon. He reminds me a little of early Wes, not sure of what to do, highly intelligent but without the practical knowledge. And I adore him with River. The moment in Serenity when River stumbles out of the box and Simon tries to calm her down really gets me. I love the entire little sister bit (ergo the giant Dawn-fanness).

Hubby laughed for about 15 minutes straight at the kicked-in-the-engine scene.

Should I be worried?
