Just watched Serenity for the first time.

It did drag a bit. But damn, so much better than Train Job.

I want to be in this universe more, and it irks me to no small extent that I can't. Well. Twelve more episodes at least.

And I heart Simon. And Kaylee.

Stick with it. Firefly gets off to a bit of a slow start, but by the end you will be so addicted. It's simply amazing...or so I think, anyway :)

You know, I really disliked "Serenity." I think part of the problem was that I was trying to hook my mom on the show, and I thought "Hey, what better episode than the *real* pilot?" But I think "Train Job" does a much, much better job of summing up everyone's background succinctly, and getting right into the action/humor/cliche-twisting that I loved the show for. I convinced her to watch it last night, actually, and when it was over she said "That was much better! Let's watch more!"

I think "Serenity" is probably best viewed by people who've seen the show through, and want to have some more background on the characters, rather than as a pilot. I should probably sit down and watch it again without the nagging worry that it's boring my mother AND not being funny like I expected. :)

Lucky you, with some still new ones to see! I have to let them sit a while, right now, or I'll get tired of them eventually. I agree that Serenity is a bit slow. I saw some of the other eps first and so was really glad to get to that one--still think the series might have gone better if they'd started with it.

Love that statement...

...and it reminds me of how I'm feeling starting the Alphabet of Thorn. It's that "I want to read more" but "I want it to last forever" thing.
