oyceter: (coffee prince han kyul heart)

See my new icon? I would totally scribble dorky pink hearts all over this show if I could!

As usual, incoherent babbling below.

So now that Eun Chan and Han Kyul are officially together, they must face obstacles like him going back to America and his grandmother's disapproval!

This should totally feel like they're stretching the drama out to fit 17 episodes, but it doesn't. And I'm actually more fascinated by this than by the "how they get together" storyline, just because I so rarely get to see what happens after the declaration of love in romances. The great thing is that it's tackling a bunch of common issues -- I remember having quite a few of the conversations in there, like "Don't hold him back" and "Is he after you for your money?" or the like. I particularly love how everyone really is trying to stay back and let Han Kyul make his own decision about going to America, even though you can tell they're all just dying to beg him to stay.

In what is not new news, Han Kyul and Eun Chan continue to slay me with the cute! I don't know what parts I liked best! There's the awkward and funny and totally heartwarming dinner with Han Sung and Yoo Ju, where I laughed and laughed and laughed and wanted to draw giant pink hearts on the screen whenever Han Kyul mimed stuff over Eun Chan's head while Han Sung and Yoo Ju tried not to crack up.

I love Han Sung and Yoo Ju's sort of but not quite mock fight and their conversation on the stairs about Han Kyul and Eun Chan and how new those two felt compared to Han Sung and Yoo Ju's relationship. And I really love that we got little friendship scenes between Han Sung and Eun Chan and between Han Kyul and Yoo Ju!

Oh! I cannot believe I haven't talked about Yoo Ju coming back yet! OMG! The messages he leaves on her phone! The look on his face when he sees her luggage there! The way he curls up next to her in bed! The way he freaks out just that tiny bit in the morning when he wakes up and she's gone, right before he sees her outside! The two of them talking over lunch and sitting back and watching the rain and saying the weather is great! The mock argument about the CDs!

And oh man, she's pregnant. I would roll my eyes at that, except I really like that they talk about it. I like that there's the upfront admission that she did think about getting an abortion but decided not to, and I LOVE that the two of them aren't "Oh! We must now get married!" Han Sung's whole thing about the different houses cracked me up, especially when Yoo Ju kept pushing him back in the bed and he kept saying it again. I love those two so much.

Oh! And Han Kyul learns about his dad! I love how he calls Eun Chan right after and she just goes over. Oh man. They are so cute! And the scene where he yells at all the other coffee princes and they go overboard and fan her and get her drinks and stuff. And the way he tells her he's not going to America! And their mimed kiss to freak Ha Rim out!

I also really love how the show focused on Eun Sae and their mom being sad about the possibility of Eun Chan leaving, particularly the scene paralleling Eun Chan and her mom eating dinner with Han Kyul and his mom eating dinner. Oh! And Eun Sae and Min Yeop! Poor Min Yeop! I should whap him, but he's doing such an awful job at being a player that I mostly just want to hug him instead. He is complete putty in Eun Sae's hands!

And Sun Ki's tragic love story! I cannot believe how much I love the coffee princes. Min Yeop in particular! I grinned at him when he bodily picked up Ha Rim and dragged him off to keep him from pestering Eun Chan. And it is so cute that Eun Chan is still calling all of them "hyung"! The "Hyung... op...pa?" message was also so cute!

And Han Kyul and Eun Chan imitating his grandma in the car, even as they do have a serious discussion about it! And Han Kyul getting all mad that his grandma and mom don't like her because she's not typically feminine. I love how he's all "Well, that's stupid! Not all women are like that! And you're perfectly fine how you are!" And the way his entire family can tell he's serious because he brought her in to meet them!

Oh everyone in the show, how are you all so adorable?

Icon love! *g*

This show just begs to have hearts drawn all over it. They're all so cute. Just reading this post made me a little giddy from the supreme cuteness of it all.

Min Yeop in particular - I love him. He really is a terrible player, and the musical cues they use for him make it all the more hilarious. (I adore the use of music on this show, in general; I think my favorite musical cue is in the scene where he flips out and starts running around carrying fridges and things a few eps back.)

Yay, show! It's fantastic to see someone all aflail over it. :)
