  • [livejournal.com profile] rachelmanija has finished her excellent series of posts on PTSD: Parts I, II, and III

  • She's also started reading Angel Sanctuary! My joy cannot be contained! Also, spoil her and have your brain taken over by Rosiel.

  • [livejournal.com profile] rilina and [livejournal.com profile] yhlee continue to watch Gundam Wing. My joy is still not contained! OMG people watching and getting into my beloved first anime series despite its mecha-ness!

  • I'm sure everyone has already seen the post-apocalyptic cities posters for I Am Legend but I wanted to highlight the fact that they have TAIPEI and SEOUL! EEEEEEE! (I love Hong Kong, but I feel HK is featured much more often than Taipei and Seoul! OMG! Taipei! National monument that is only a few blocks away from my apartment!

  • I have taken the plunge, put my Netflix account on hold, and started Blockbuster. I blame my sister. On the minus side, Blockbuster only has DVDs 7-10 of GWing. On the plus side.... THEY HAVE DAMO ON DVD!!!!!

  • [livejournal.com profile] shewhohashope hosts the 5th POC in SF Carnival and focuses on non-Western fantasy, including... WUXIA! (yes, I am a little obsessed right now) I particularly rec [livejournal.com profile] meganbmoore's wuxia primer for those of you like me who only know you like swords and flying people and historical costumes and have no idea what to watch outside of two or three things. And it's good for people who have absolutely no idea what wuxia is too! Win-win!

I should actually catch up on book and TV posting but... oh well. Soon.

Didn't you decide to watch the Kimi wa Petto/Tramops Like Us drama a while ago?

Well, you've given it a fair shot. And you have years and years worth of drama recs to catch up on, so you're not really losing out if you don't want to watch this particular show.

Coffee Prince! At least get to episode 12, I stalled a little after that because it was already almost perfect at that point.

You're probably ahead of me in Damo, as it's the end of term at uni and I have assignments due.

Also: Hana Yori Dango!! I may upload episodes, just so people watch it.

I think I'm freaking out people with all this drama talk, so I'm considering getting a separate lj account just for drama talk.

This was a really disjointed comment, feel free to reply to any and all, or none of the points made.

I like having everything in one place as well, but I really hold back whenever I'm hit by one of my ever-changing obsessions in order to keep things on an even keel (ie. not look like I have a personality disorder).

I suppose I could just accept that I'm a fickle creature and unleash the full extent of my craziness on the world.

(Aren't we all?)

So, they have copies on bookmooch? I'd like to read the Forbidden Game also, but I was afraid I'd outgrown LJ Smith, and it would turn out to be boring rather than funny.

I was one of those people who came in early I think so I was reading The Secret Circle and The Vampire Diaries but then I got sucked into the world of Christopher Pike (OMG, why am I admitting this in public?) and missed out on Forbidden Game and Night World! I didn't even realize they existed until I was in college and discovered LJ Smith fanfiction!

...okay, I'm not doing a good job keeping this a secret.

Christopher Pike!

I was possibly obsessed with Spooksville when I was 12. Just a little.

Completely obscure obsessions are my thing! Although, try as I might, no-one's out there translating Arabic language telenovelas. At least Asian dramas are somewhat mainstream.

I think I'll write up Nobuta wo Produce (http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Nobuta_wo_Produce) aka the show that made me fall in love with Horikita Maki (http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Horikita_Maki), Yamashita Tomihisa (http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Yamashita_Tomohisa) AND Kamenashi Kazuya (http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Kamenashi_Kazuya). I will now watch almost anything with anyone of them it.

(I'm still disappointed that's there's no end to the Night World Series)

They are CRAZY. I watch them with my mum on Middle Eastern channels. Some of them are about Arabs in South America, and are dubbed in Arabic from the original Spanish and some of them are made in the ME. Anyway they are CRAZY. And I'd like them a lot better if my mother would explain plot points other than during commericals. Or the commercial breaks were longer.

As I once described them: "Arabic Language Soap Operas (one-eyed villains, blind twins, rich girls brought up in poor but loving families, fiancee-stealing sisters, siblings slapping each other for laughs and the most ridiculous wigs known to mankind! Someone besides me and my mother should be watching them!)"

No, no, no!

It's a high school drama (don't walk away yet!), about an unpopular girl (... hold on) being 'produced' to become popular by two boys (a basket-case and a fake popular boy), and they learn to respect each other and stuff!

But it's really GOOD.

Does that mean that you've watched Suppli & Tatta Hitotsu no Koi? I did the same thing after Nobuta wo Produce, trying unsuccessfully to recapture the magic....

I'm watching Suppli at the moment! I like a good office drama, so I'm going to see how it goes.

And Kurosagi totally recaptured the magic, or at least made a different kind of magic for me.

Over the last year and a half, I have learned that people are as obstinate about trying out Damo as they are about Basara. As they are 2 of my most favoritest things, that saddens me.

Deeply.
