Knitting and rat picture spam!

I feel like it's been a while since I've picture spammed people! In the meantime, I have been relentlessly knitting the tatami kimono, which takes so long!

This is the first try at Jaywalkers! I happily note that the yarn is striping somewhat.

And then, there is the tragic frogging of the sock, as I discover my grievous miscalculation with regard to the gusset placement. Grrr!




But finally! I have knit past the heel and am on the leg now!




And a view of the side, complete with slip-stitch heel. I made the foot a little too long, but oh well.

Lol. Your knitting is so pretty. After your last slew of knitting posts I cornered a coworker and bribed her to teach me. I am still practicing the very first stitch, so I hope I get to learn something fun soon.

I'm really excited about it. I always thought knitting looked much cooler than crochet. The problem I have is when the my friend was trying to teach me I held the string continental style and can't for the life of me do it the other way. I picked up a knitting book called knitgrrl 2, as it seems to have very clear pictures and easy directions.

I think I'm almost done! They got pretty long, so I'm starting on the ribbing. Except I have not used up all my yarn, so I feel sort of bad, but if I keep going, they will be too tight, and I am too lazy to work out increases.

Heh, I'm not very familiar with Katamari Damacy, so I had assumed that was what kalmn was going for all along, until I reached the parenthetical comments.

Then I was going to try to work in a clever Katamari Damacy reply, and saw you had beat me to it, and done better that I ever could :)

Whoo! I just looked up the pattern for those socks -- admired them at Wiscon. I've never done toe-up socks, this might be something to try....

I like the toe-up thing! Though the converted toe-up Jaywalker pattern has a ridiculous amount of rows for the gusset increases, so beware! I had a bigger row gauge than they did, which I found out late, ergo the painful frogging of the first sock.

I really liked knitting the Jaywalkers -- and that slipped-stitch side on the instep was pretty genius.

I am wondering if your fit will be a bit different than mine, since you are going toe-up. The Jaywalker pattern seems to yield a sock that is a bit smaller-fitting than one might expect; I ended up with one sock that fits very well and one sock that fits all right once it's on, but is something of a struggle to get over the heel/ankle.

I love that slipped stitch!

Mine have been fitting ok, I think, but I haven't tried them on off the needles yet. They are a little baggy around the ankles, but they're also a little long, which I knew. I may end up giving them to a friend who likes the colorway a lot more than me and has bigger feet.

Your jaywalkers look great. ^_^ I like the way they're striping. (I'm making a pair of socks and although the balls say they're from the same dye lot, one's stripes are twice the thickness of the other's. It's making me crazy!)

The tatami kimono's looking good. Just think of the payoff once you get to drop some of those sleeve stitches. ^_^

Thanks! I like the striping too; I am really glad they didn't pool much.

I finally got to the drop stitches! Except I left my pattern behind and couldn't do it, but I am going to tonight! Yay!

Hello, I stumbled onto this by accident. I love the rats, are they related, or introduced later?

I found this by looking for the Gonzo Romeo x Juliet fansubs, with no success. I saw your plot sumemries, do you by chance know where I could find them?

The rats are... I have no idea. I adopted them from a rescue, so they were raised together, but might not be related.

If you google romeo x juliet fansub, you should be able to find stuff.
