Knitting spam
Fri, Apr. 27th, 2007 10:38 pmI forgot; I actually have been doing a few things aside from watching Honey and Clover. Or, more accurately, while watching Honey and Clover, as the tatami kimono pattern is relatively brainless and thereby good anime knitting.

Look! I was good and actually swatched for
rachelmanija's tatami kimono!
The drop stitches make the swatch much wider than the pattern dictates, so I ended up going down a needle size. Also, I may add an additional YO to the bindoff to give the drop stitches more room.

Whoo! Candy-striped socks! These are sort of My First Socks; I started two other patterns but got so bored that I switched over to this one instead (I have already knit four toes -- two short row, two figure eight, thanks to attempts to get my gauge right -- and two heels, so I don't feel like these are My First Socks any more). The pattern is ok, but not horribly interesting; I was very excited when I finally got to the heel.

And here's my first short-row heel! Wait, second. I made one on another pair of socks in the same yarn, but I got so bored by the pattern that I switched over to this pattern instead.

And here's the sock sans foot. I am vastly amused by how much it looked like a penis before I stuck the heel on, because, not-so-secretly, I am twelve.

Huh. I could have sworn that I'd taken some pictures in between swatching and getting to the sleeves, but apparently not.
It currently looks ridiculously narrow, but that's just because the stitches haven't been dropped.
