Rather annoyed at Salon's little write up on Angel ...
Wesley is the poor man's Giles?! What? Has Laura Miller not watched, oh.... anything past Buffy S3?
And I also have quibbles with the idea that the show has to be just like Buffy to be good, speaking as someone who really enjoyed the noir-ness and the darkness and the less-quippy atmosphere along with Buffy...

Wed, Nov. 5th, 2003 05:51 am (UTC)Ugh. I like Stephanie Zacharek's articles on Buffy much more, but then, she might be one of the Buffy be-all-end-all who thinks Angel should be just like it.

Wed, Nov. 5th, 2003 06:23 am (UTC)Actually, in that case, it's more like saying - "This tasty cheesecake shaped like a cat isn't meowing. It's broken." But a cheesecat doesn't need to meow.
Okay, wow, I've officially entered the land of the absurd.
