Yay! Happy new year, everyone!

I am spending mine in my kitchen making squash and leek Thai curry. Yes, quite exciting ;). But me, my mom and my sister had a bit of leftover wine from Christmas and are just sort of watching fireworks on TV.

I finally fixed the multiple HTML errors in my 2005 summary (apologies, everyone), and now that I officially can't squeeze in any books to finish, I'll write up my 2005 book post later.

Yay curry!

I poached an egg in the last remaining red-simmered broth. It was delicious, if slightly misshapen and amoeba-like around the edges. I now am contemplating what other liquids I could poach eggs in.

I am looking forward to your book post, as today marks Day Seven of lurking at home sick. I hope this isn't an omen for the coming year. I didn't even make it to Halle's party.

I seem to have pretty much recovered, except for residual sniffles and coughs. At least, I trained for an hour and a half yesterday without keeling over, and am going rock-climbing with Jody ([livejournal.com profile] canandagirl) and her husband James tomorrow. (Jody and James, isn't that cute?)

If I'd eaten the pastries you sent, I might have recovered faster, as at least one type seemed to be growing penicillin.
