Reading Wednesday

What I've read: Finished The Zoya Factor and even managed to write it up! Whoo! Recap of review: romance drags on a little too long, but overall shows potential for the author. Looking forward to getting my hands on her next two books.

I also finished Tenea B. Johnson's R/evolution, which I need to write up with Smoketown. I am really curious as to what she's working on next. I love her prose and her ideas; mostly it feels like the books need to be fleshed out a lot more, R/evolution in particular.

What I'm reading: I started on Rucka's run on Wonder Woman, thanks to chaila's posts, though I haven't gotten too far. It's interesting, because I actually don't know anything about Wonder Woman except for the Amazons background. It's also weird reading superhero comics again. I also read an issue or so of Saga, which seemed cool but was too visually dense to read well on the 7" tablet, as well as an issue or so of the new all-female X-Men title. No real impressions of it, except that I love Storm's hair. /is shallow

What I'm reading next: More Anuja Chauhan when I get the books? Maybe more comics if I grab the tablet again? (My dad wanted me to leave it for my mom so she could try to use it. Ha.)

The new X-Men title is on my To Read list, but right now I'm catching up on Captain Marvel, and of course Chaila convinced me to give Wonder Woman a try as well hehe. Btw if you like fabulous hair, Captain Marvel would definitely be for you ;)

I do hope you give Saga a go in another medium. It's one of my top three series, just excellent stuff all around.

Ooooh, I should totally add Captain Marvel to my list! And Hawkeye. I keep hearing good things about both series. I definitely mean to read Saga at some point, though I may have to wait for collections to come out in paper or something...

The first two TPBs of Saga are out already, so you're in luck there :) And yes, Hawkeye has been a lot of fun. I've lost count of how many times Clint has been knocked out at this point lol. They leave you highly aware of him not having any super-powers; it's great!

Saga is so beautiful that I highly recommend at least lurking in the comic shop pawing the trades for a long time (or borrowing a big iPad Retina or Nexus 10).

I borrowed from the library and then had to buy them they were that good.

Oh man, after trying to read US comics on the 7" tablet, I am so tempted to check out the Nexus 10. I will resist! Especially since I don't read comics all that often...

Really looking forward to seeing Saga's art in a larger format!
