Janet Evanovich, Three to Get Deadly

Amazingly, I laughed even harder in this book. Lula kicks ass. I adore Lula.

From the part with the body and the Lula's car, I was pretty much laughing (very silently) for a good half hour or so. It's really hard to do belly laughs and keep quiet.

I continue to crush on Morelli, and I love Stephanie Plum.

Another thing I really love about these so far -- Stephanie's not super-sleuth or James Bond cool. She is, in fact, probably the anti-cool. And somehow, Evanovich manages to combine the theory behind deadpan humor and complete farce perfectly. Deadpan because everyone reacts like they would for a normal event, be it a bad dye job or, like in the last book, a very unexpected package in the mail. Complete farce because everyone's normal reaction is totally over the top and replete with a good deal of cursing.

Have I mentioned I love Lula?

For anyone who was curious:

The hamster has been pronounced dead, due to stiffness and turning blue.

I feel bad for the boy, who has to deal with this during finals.

He has gone down the garbage chute (no where to bury him in the apartment complex), so hopefully if he is somehow not-dead, he can live happily amongst table scraps.

He was a cute hamster. Stupid, but cute.

I just watched Objects in Space again, and it hits on one very scary thing for me. Early just gets off his spaceship and floats down to Serenity, no rope, nothing. This completely freaks me out -- just the person in outer space, nothing tethering them to anything, with just a chance shift somewhere able to send them spinning out into the eternity of space.

Yikes.

Evanovich, Janet - Four to Score

Sally Sweet is awesome.

Morelli is hot like a hot thing.

I could probably go more into the interesting not-going-into-romance-tropes thing, but really, the above two statements are about all that's going through my head right now.
