For anyone who was curious:

The hamster has been pronounced dead, due to stiffness and turning blue.

I feel bad for the boy, who has to deal with this during finals.

He has gone down the garbage chute (no where to bury him in the apartment complex), so hopefully if he is somehow not-dead, he can live happily amongst table scraps.

He was a cute hamster. Stupid, but cute.

Oh, dear. I was thinking yesterday that would be one way you could tell, but never got around to posting.

Ooh, sympathy. Pet death is nasty--they're so sweet and innocent. From a Buddhist perspective, though, this does give him/it another chance at an upgrade in the next round.

Not meant to be cute, BTW. Lost my cat of 17 years last fall, and that was one of my comforting thoughts.

You're always storing up angst with rodents, they have such short lives.
