Sun, Apr. 25th, 2004 03:55 pmIt's bright and beautiful and sunny again! It's amazing how much it improves my mood.
I should be going to buy a suit sometime for interviews (I had other ones, except I have *ahem* outgrown them. Outgrown being "ate too much and do not fit"). I really don't want to though. It's no fun going shopping by myself. It's not even that much fun shopping with the boy (although he is improving). Hrm. I need my mom or my sister or more girlfriends who shop here.
Haha, I am such a girly, fobby girl. I'm also glad it's nice weather because now I can wear my skirts and not have my legs freeze off. My sister said she saw me in the airport when I was picking her up and was thinking, "Wow that girl looks so fobby! Hey wait, that's my sister!"
Hrmph.
The Nor'east Mini Roses catalogue came in the mail too, and I am so tempted! And everywhere I drive, rose bushes are in full bloom. Except I must remember the ones I got last year have all died off, due to spider mites, powdery mildew, and criminal negligence on my part. Oh, and the squirrels knocking them off the balcony all the time probably didn't help.
Maybe I will wait until I can have an actual yard.
I watched Iron Chef America last night -- thought Sakai should have won over Bobby Flay. I didn't see them cooking, so I can't say, but Bobby Flay's stuff looked a lot more boring and not as good to eat. Something seems missing from Iron Chef America -- I don't know, maybe the contestants are not quite as daring or something? It was interesting watching it and then watching normal Iron Chef after (secret ingredient oxtail!) in which the people were using stuff like fat netting and horse mane fat and various stuff. One of my favorite parts of watching is just seeing how weird it can get (oxtail rice porridge, French style! Oxtail croquettes!) etc. I wonder if the judges for Iron Chef America are more conservative foodwise? The OC actress looked kind of grossed out by sweetmeats and lobster mousse and stuff. Mmmm, food shows.

Re: I watch Iron Chef occationally too
Sun, Apr. 25th, 2004 10:43 pm (UTC)Oh wow. Usually the only stuff I end up watching on Food Network are Good Eats, Emeril Live and Unwrapped and Top Five as filler. And Iron Chef of course ^_^.
