After having briefly been caught up on online things for about a day or so, I am now behind again.

I have eaten much tasty food, although sadly, I never made it to the Doughnut Plant or S'mac for mac and cheese. (coffeeandink does not like mac and cheese. I told my sister this, who replied, "You have strange friends.") But! I had Actual NY Bagels at Ess-a-Bagel, and now I understand why people make fun of non-NY bagels. Bagels are chewy! With a good, hearty crust! But most of all, chewy! They made my jaws hurt and I couldn't finish an entire bagel, but they are very good. Alas, Ess-a-Bagel's egg salad did not quite meet my standards (I like more celery and more salt), but oh well. I also had pizza at Motorino's, which was good but frankly, I think pizza in some California restaurants is good too.

Other places eaten at include Gobo (good mushroom fritters), Westville (market vegetables including PEAS and TOMATOES YAY!), Joe's Ginger (good beef roll things/牛肉夾餅), Nolita House (three kinds of mac and cheese!), Mely's home cooking (I am impressed!), and I finally made it to Shake Shack, which has pretty good burgers for the price, although I still do not understand what frozen custard is and how it differs from soft serve.

Met up with a lot of awesome people (*waves hi*), though still not as many as I wanted to see. And I managed to only buy 6 books!

Also, Terminal 5 of JFK has awesome recharging stations with touch screens that let you swipe your credit card, order food, and have it delivered right to you. The future, it is here!

S'mac? OMG HEAVEN!! The next time I'm in NYC, I MUST go there. I swear I could live there.

Um yeah, mac'n'cheese is totally my favorite food. I am impressed at all the places you ate at, they sound fabulous!

I love mac and cheese! Sometimes during finals period I would live off Easy Mac, which is kind of embarrassing. But hey, easy and comforting.

I am being good! Although a lot of it has to do with just having moved; I culled my shelves so much to sell things off in the past month I am currently in the habit of convincing myself I don't need a particular book. Though, uh, we'll see just how long that lasts...

Frozen custard has egg in it, and is higher in fat content than soft serve, which has no egg and is lower in fat content than ice cream (normally).

Ah, thank you! I thought it had to do with egg, but wasn't sure (and had no idea soft serve has no egg!).

I have never been to S'mac! It is now on the list of places to try, though (granted; a very long list).

Did you manage to go to Bonchon (now called Crazy Chicken, I believe)??

We didn't end up going to Bonchon, although I've had it before (just take out though, I've never actually eaten there).

Sorry about S'Mac, but the thing is, I spent the entire week Chad was away eating leftover baked mac & cheese because it reheated really fast and I had a needy child on my hands. And then we made it to take to a cookout the day Chad got back and for a cookout we had at the house three days later.

So I was SO VERY mac & cheese'd out.

Prix fixe veggie Gujarati food. No more pricy than Gobo is really and you can tell them how spicy you want things! It's effing awesome. Also, they have open table, so you can avoid making a phone call. Heh.

I am not a mac and cheese fan, either--think I've eaten it twice (neither time from a box, which I understand is a different, also delicious-for-some-individuals food item that goes by the same name as the made-by-hand kind).

That is ok! I am a fan probably largely because of childhood associations. Well, and I love cheese and carbs. I am a fan of the stuff out of a box and the stuff out of a box you make in the microwave (I know it's disgusting, but it's so good for finals!) and the stovetop kind and the casserole kind and everything in between!
