Randomness
Mon, Apr. 5th, 2004 01:04 amHaha! Megan Lindholm's The Reindeer People has emerged at the bookstore -- book club format, so both books together, and it's probably going to be around 5 bucks!
Ah, the joy of the hunt for out of print books.
Two copies of Patricia C. Wrede's Snow White and Rose Red showed up too -- I'd been looking for it for about four years now, found it and read it at the Mountain View library.
It's weird... I move to Mountain View, and suddenly, all the out of print books are just showing up left and right.
Other randomness: My rats eat the entire apple core! Seeds too!
I am constantly amazed by my rats and their funny little feet and whiskers and how they sleep and groom themselves and run around looking for peas in my pockets. I probably look quite silly because I dote on them so much, but they're so cute and I can't help it!
I spend too much money at the bookstore -- but then, I can't help thinking that I should buy the books I think I will want in my collection now, when I have an employee's discount. This is the kind of thinking that is going to have me buying the entire Monty Python's Flying Circus set that we have on DVD there. $149. 25% discount. Still expensive. But! Monty Python! Thirteen DVDs of Flying Circus!
Have jury duty tomorrow. Well, not real jury duty, but the thing where they pick the jurors. Am hoping I don't get picked. Am also hoping I somehow figure out how to get parking, get the ticket validated, and not get lost. Never done this before, and am a little nervous. Knowing me, I'll probably have to leave an hour early to figure out all of this, given the fact that out of sheer absent-mindedness, I will get off the wrong exit and wander blindly for half an hour with my car helpfully shouting hints at me (my car talks, thank goodness, and has that GPS thing).

Mon, Apr. 5th, 2004 10:00 pm (UTC)I know it's so much easier to get off half.com or something, but there's also that joy of compulsively stopping at every single used bookstore ever just in case they have that one book.
