I really hope a) reading these in English and b) without jetlag makes it make more sense. That said, despite my having no idea what's going on with the plot and suspecting that the characters are probably not particularly well-rounded, the absolutely gorgeous art keeps me reading anyway and lends the story a mythic quality that it otherwise might not have.

Spoilers are confused

Instead of actually resolving plot points, Yun Mi-Kyung's modus operandi seems to be to simply throw in more plot points! In other words, I have no idea why Soah hasn't yet discovered Mui/Habaek's dual identity, yet Yun Mi-Kyung keeps dragging it out! Not only that, but every time Soah nearly does find out, something else happens.

In these few volumes, it's the appearance of another human bride, except this one looks exactly like Nakbin and seems to think she is Nakbin as well. So there has been quite a lot of positioning, and not-Nakbin is of course annoyingly possessive and jealous. Apologies for not having her name! I cannot figure out Korean pronunciation from Chinese characters so far, and I'm afraid to look to closely at Wiki because I already got spoiled for some stuff.

At least the secret of Nakbin is getting unravelled a bit! We discover that Huye is her brother and that the two aren't quite human (at least, I think). Also, we meet the god of wind, and he has a cute flashback with Murah! I am hoping that this will mean more character development for Murah later on.

Sadly, Soah remains completely boring, except half the time, I don't even notice because she is drawn so beautifully. And it seems that either Habaek has forgotten who she is, has been bewitched, both, or has been replaced by a look alike.

I really hope this makes more sense in English while wide awake...

Reading wiki articles is the only way I have been able to make any sense of that manga. And yet... *pets the pretty*

Which is a darn shame, since it started out so visually striking and so thematically comforting. I mean, you knew exactly where it was going from chapter one. Only apparently Yun Mi-Kyung does not agree? Or thought she would shake things up? Sigh.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I never read the text, I always get caught in the pretty pictures and flip pages, mouth open and staring. I'm sure I look like a very dumb goldfish reading this. It's just so damn beautiful!!
