I went to my old library yesterday, and I knit and watched Project Runway S2 (hate Santino SO MUCH), and it was excellent and I had nothing due!

This morning, I went back to my old farmers' market for the first time in what feels like forever! I now have entirely too many peas, strawberries, blueberries, Garnet cherries, and a fruit tart. I tried some of the Bing cherries but wasn't overly impressed and don't particularly have an impression of the Raniers. There were also raspberries, although I passed those up, as well as very early peaches, which I also passed up.

I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of white corn, which is currently in Safeway.

The heat wave makes it not so fun to walk around, but I don't care! It's summer! I HAVE FRESH FRUIT!

I also got to see [personal profile] rilina and [personal profile] thistleingrey today, and we had a tasty brunch, cupcakes, and watched the first episode of Painter in the Wind. I don't think any of us have any idea what is going on, as I have failed as distinguishing nearly all the male characters and have no idea as to what rank everyone is and how they all interact with each other. Still, there has been cross-dressing, the requisite bathroom scene, jumping off cliffs, a tiger nature scene, shounen painting commentary, an animated brush painting of a half-naked guy, a painting competition in which people drag paint brushes nearly as tall as they are around a room, a woman scandalously going across the veil separating her from the guy, and a possibly cross-dressing ninja-type (is there a Korean equivalent of "ninja"?) person who has bangs emo-ly flopping over her (his? her dressed as him?) eye who seems like she belongs in a drama not about painting.

It was extremely fun, and I am looking forward to more!

HEEEE! That sounds very entertaining!

I fast-forwarded every time Santino opened his mouth. That season was the most backstage griping of them all, I think, so not my favorite, though I did like several of the designers. Did you get to "Um, I think my magnets reversed polarity" yet?

Are you watching Fashion Show? There's a woman who says she works with heat-activated inks, and a young man who says his fashions are inspired by "rectangles, squares, and post-colonialist theory."

Sadly, it has no Tim Gunn. Though I do like the judges it does have.

I loathed Santino for almost the entire season, and then at some point -- during the umpteen finale episodes? -- I started having mixed feelings for him. Now, having finished S3, I've got some fondness for him. Even though he still has Obnoxious Man is Obnoxious issues. (No, I can't explain it.)

Re Santino making fun of Tim Gunn, there's a scene where-- Oh, but I can't say more if you haven't gotten there!

And S3 special features has an interview with Tim Gunn about getting invited to do project runway, and how he thought he was a purely optional part of the show until he saw S1 and was completely surprised. It's very sweet.

Tim Gunn made that scene awesome. Because Tim Gunn is awesome. :-)

Yeah, I had same reaction and counter-reaction about Santino, and then my feelings about him morphed again during S3. (I seriously don't remember why; only that they did.)

I also couldn't comprehend how he keep squeaking through. *boggles*

As much as I hated him, I did love "Designers, rock the kasbah." Hee. Except in my head, Tim Gunn (the awesome) totally says that.

Your summary paragraph is much more fun than mine would be. :) Also, Dahee Fanel's recaps chez Dramabeans stop with ep. 7. hmm. Anyway, if the ninja recurs, Dahee doesn't mention it through ep. 4.

Sul sa do? (ETA actually, I don't know whether that's a latter-day name for it. Presumably it's a development of hwarang, though?)

ETA2 the ninja recurs in ep. 6, it seems. :D

The only time I could ever stand Santino was when he sang. That was the only time he was actually as entertaining as he thought he was all the time.
