Filters, subscriptions, and access

• I'm still fiddling around with subscriptions vs. access and my policies regarding each, so there may be a lot of random checking and unchecking of boxes. I plan on writing a nice admin post for DW as soon as I figure everything out; thanks for everyone's patience!


• I am trying to have all my comments consolidated on DW, solely because I am selfish and like having everyone talk to each other, and I apologize for the annoyance it causes people. I really hope I can figure out a way to do the "Comment" and "Read entry" links on the x-posted LJ entries so that people only have to click once to comment. (Also, if anyone knows how to do this without having to do it manually, I would appreciate any help!)


• Random question: I noticed that sometimes on my navigation bar, there's the option for "light style" along with "my style," but it's only rarely there. How do I put it there all the time?


• The following poll is only for my own use; if you're still figuring it out or are posting different content to both sites, that's perfectly fine! I am just trying to make sure I do not miss anything and will definitely keep reading LJ.

I may be posting stuff like birthday greetings to people who are only on LJ just on LJ, and code offers, and stuff like that, but anything substantive is going to be cross-posted, I think.

I think that "Light view" doesn't show up on RecentPage (main journal) view.

Ohhhhh. Or ReadingPage too. I had originally assumed it wouldn't show up for my own RecentPage or ReadingPage, but that it might for not-me RecentPage views, but I guess not. So just for individual entries, it looks like?

I was musing today on the silence on most of my reading list here, and I concluded that instead of waiting for it to get more talkative, I should contribute by posting here myself. I will probably be crossposting most things until more of my reading list is active. Most of my lj friends are not here yet, plus there are some filters I have there that I could not reproduce here in the same form. So anyhow, I plan to crosspost as much as I can so that people will interact here and then eventually I will be more and more here. It will take a while to build up the community connections here that exist at lj.

My lovely wife umadoshi, who has a knack for seeking out awesome people, keeps telling me you're awesome and I should read you. I hope you don't mind that I've subscribed to your journal!

Also, not that you have any reason to care (at least so far), I'm an inveterate lurker... In the event that I start actually posting, I'll probably cross-post everything.
