Status note

I was going to try and write up a book post or something with the usual note on how behind I am, so I figured I might as well make that a separate post.

Anyway, as you all know reader-Bob, I am currently in grad school. So if I have not commented, answered email, posted, or otherwise generally fallen off the face of the planet, please assume it is because grad school has eaten my life... YET AGAIN! I really want to keep up with book talk and all the cool things going on in the anti-racism sphere from awesome POC and allies and talk about my current love for the probably-doomed SCC (so much love!) and manga and eventually finish posting my pictures of winter vacation (!!) and maybe even write up some of the thoughts on non-book things that I have (I have them, really), but just keeping up with my reading list is taking up all of my energy. I think my brain is about to explode from having to process too much information, so I may end up having to trim again =(.

So I keep saying I will try to get caught up, but given how busy this semester is, and given what my workload looks like next school year, I ... really doubt it will happen. And of course, every day is defriending amnesty day here, and I will not be offended. I will try to post what I can when I can, because I miss LJ conversations so much, but my time and attention are pretty scarce right now.

Hee, no, no prob! I am so scatterbrained lately that I totally would have put it on the wrong date, or put it on my calendar three times or something.

I think it's just the nature of grad school. I'm amazed you still get so much reading done, never mind talking about some of it!

I think so too! I probably should not read so much, except I would go insane if I didn't. Well, more than I already am, at least.

I'm in a similar situation, and I have just in the last few days resigned myself to the fact that I am never going to catch up, and I am never going to be able to make fair decisions about what I respond to and what I don't; I'm just gonna fling stuff out into the ether when I can, respond to what catches my eye when I have a minute, and try not to stress about it too badly. Offline life is pretty demanding right now.

And on that note, off to do research. Bleah.

Yes! I have decided to just type when I have energy and to not when I don't, and to try not to stress too much that often I type things like "OMG YES!" instead of actual thoughtful things. Sigh.
