Am missing Ren dreadfully. Will be in LA on Wed. and am sacrificing some school time to get cheaper tickets, but do not care right now. Anyway, tell me something happy to tide me through till then?
I am starting PK off this time with court-martialing Brio! Also, even though this rewrite means I don't start off with Tamalat as a character, it does mean that the scene where she meets Brio for the first time will happen on-screen (as it were).
I have barley tea! Korean food FTW!
Do you like beaded jewelry? And if so, what kinds of colors? Measurements? (Or I could take my best guess, you're roughly my size for these purposes...?) I could bead you a bracelet or a necklace.
Ooh! I think I can hook you up with some dark vivid reds. Do you like anything in particular as an accent color, for contrast? (Sadly, I don't have enough reds to do the whole thing red.) I could do red-violet, red-pink, red-gold (I have these nifty twisted bugle beads in gold-color), red-black...
And I tried to make mochi again and this time there was less fail. Short version: cook mochi longer, spread out as one big layer and then cut into pieces, don't let the dough cool too long before handling.
They still came out lopsided, but they tasted much better.
Ahhhh! That would explain it... cooking longer probably gets the floury flavor out. Also, did you use more potato starch? (hahaha. I sort of shudder at what your kitchen might have looked like after.)
I have the classic, cheesy and yet totally awesome Galaxy Rangers cartoons! We should watch them some time and you can see why I thought Firefly wasn't all that special.
Sadly, I only have the dubbed Robotech version. And yes, Max/Miriya is the hottest couple ever. Their relationship is endlessly amusing. ("How can this micronian defeat me?")
On note of HK, I've been threatening to do a John Woo movie night with Ladyjax, if you're down. Obviously, senseless violence, way too many guns, and silly plot holes but a good time nonetheless.
Well, first of all, I would never ever EVER actually feed Ed or Al to my ball python. Firstly because I think rats are cute and awesome, and I feel bad as it is about having to feed Morris frozen mice; secondly because Morris has never seen a rat, let alone a live one, and Al and Ed would probably incapacitate him long before he figured out they were potential food.
Have you seen the videos of rats learning (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6h1ZU9epnnE) to play basketball (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41ZW0OGp4HE&feature=related)?
I know, and thank you! Even threats of rattie harm tend to get me all protective. (Although I am not so sure Ed and Al would incapacitate him. I think Ed might, but Al so far does not seem to be prone to do much else aside from eat and sleep.)
OMG! The basketball rats! They actually jump through the hoop with the ball! Hahaha, if only I had the patience to train mine.
My husband made me a cheese souffle today! The sky was blue blue blue, and the wind that was so cold when I went outside this morning slowly got warmer over the course of the day until I had to keep my jacket unzipped by the afternoon. The ground is covered with winter trash, but my irises are alive beneath it and starting to poke out. Soon I'll be harvesting fuki flowers and putting them into miso soup. Spring is coming, and it's a very good thing after a long, cold winter.
Ohhhh that is lovely! I don't miss winter at all in California, but I miss the contrast between it and spring (not that I don't enjoy spring in California too).
I am reading, very slowly, the true love romaaance of an angel and a mermaid. It is so bad it is not even fun anymore until it goes out the other side straight into hilarious again.
BWAHAHAHAHA! youmust blog about it! (also, I heard the second one was better and am actually plannign on reading it because it is about the scarred and mistakenly evil witch mermaid!)
I love Big Picture sometimes, but sometimes I feel like they are just perpetuating tropes of Starving Africans or South American Drug Lords or the like.
