Again I bemoan Del Rey's release schedule!

This volume contains the one about the inkstone, the one about the boat in the ocean, the one about the rust, the one about the extra tooth, and the one with the fish.

I continue to enjoy this series, and thankfully the slow release schedule is more tolerable because the stories are all one-offs.

Yay, this one has Ginko's origin story! It's just as creepy and sad as it was in the anime. The part I'm still confused about is if Ginko will eventually turn into a Tokoyami or not, like Nui and the fish.

I also liked that all of these had happy endings. I can't remember if most of them do or not, but it's nice to have some variety in the endings. I was expecting the one about the extra tooth to end tragically in both the manga and the anime, even though I had already seen the anime version before reading this, and I'm still surprised when it doesn't end in disaster.

Also, yay, looks like the mushishi post office will be in the next volume.

Yay, glad you like! The anime is also very gorgeous, though it's all the same content, so I never quite feel the need to finish it.
