I am grumpy and hate everything today. I feel fat and lazy and stupid and out of shape. Also, I am behind on everything I need to do, which is why I am writing an entry, of course.

Tell me something cheerful? Unless it is about fall. I hate fall (or at least right now). It is grey and damp and cold and I miss my sunshine and blue skies and did I mention the grey?

Or tell me something cracktastic or funny that you've encountered lately, or if you feel like it, something nice about me?

I found out why the shower wasn't draining. It was because one of us accidentally turned the "don't drain" lever. The plumbers were supposed to show up at 10:00, but are now 20 minutes late.

I am about to post on the garbage spider.

Spooks Series 6 has started! There's already been three episodes. If you want, I'll upload them somewhere and get them to you?

Your only flaw is that you post on manga and books more often than I do, making me look like a sad, lame copycat. I guess I can live with that.

I can identify. My entries yesterday and today both have been cranky. It's sunny here, but dealing with people is turning me into a bitch.

Last night I canned lots of veggies. I made pickled beets, spicy pickled carrots and garlic jam. SO TASTY.

Also, I have a tiny hat on my head with feathers. The feathers are on the edge of my vision and crack me up.

Dude! I wish we could go clothes shopping together. I think it would be so much fun. You're such a great person to go exploring with. I'd say it would rock to visit another bookstore with you, but I'm not sure my budget could take it, bwahahahahaha.

Did I tell you that there is a new yarn store right up the street? Also, during packing I found the pink on pink creme Hoffman prints I was looking for. They're so delicate, like ice cream colors.

You're certainly not fat, lazy, or stupid, but I understand feeling that way, particularly if you're out of shape -- of which you're a better judge than I. (:

Can you get out at lunch and take a walk? I know the weather's crappy, but sometimes breathing fresh air really helps.

Something nice about you: you share wonderful food and ideas with your friends, and you're a kind, generous, and brave person whom I admire very much. I wish I'd had a tenth of your self-respect and understanding of the world when I was your age.

Fall where you live (Northern CA?) sounds horribly depressing, although it was very nice and sunny last weekend when I was there.

Cracktastic: This morning, on my way to work in downtown Chicago, I passed a man dressed like a pumpkin.

Even more cracktastic: Yaoicon. I may or may not do a post on it, but it has got to be one of the most crack-ariffic experiences I've ever had.

Yay stuff:
1) You'll be at Bascon right? I'm working a massage table Saturday!
2) My weekends might free up again- did you want to do tea & Emperor's Heart sometime?
3) Cracktastic: Justice- Wonder Woman is brought back to life, reshaped out of clay as she originally was- and all of the men find their heads turned away by magic alone because the super feminist magic of it forbids them from looking.

I wish I could post cheerful things, but I was just about as gloomy as you this morning (what's with the GREY? it was horrid going to school at 8:30, and it still hasn't cleared up).

Um... the start of November means Thanksgiving is on its way which means delicious food? Yarn exists in the world and we both have enormous stashes of it which we can fondle? (You know how I never used to stash? Yeah, sock yarn changed all that... I should photograph it at some point.)

Also, you are attractive and go out dancing and thus are in far better shape than I am.

It's not funny or cracktastic, but it turns out that Aussie writers are awwwwwesome. I got to meet and eat with a bunch of them last night. It was _very_ cheerful.

Something nice about you? You got me reading manga, dude! Talk about achieving the impossible.

Last night, Karen and I were watching t.v., when, as you know, the earth began to gently shimmy and shake. We kept watching t.v. The earth kept shaking.

I said, "Okay, let's have a California moment."

Karen paused the tivo so we could speculate on the strength of the quake, which I deemed sexy (well, wasn't it - in terms of a quake that is.)

Today, I am dressed as a 1960s office worker (well, technically my mother), complete with adorable hat. Tonight I shall be Luna Lovegood and shall wander a HP themed neighborhood handing out issues of the Quibbler.

Happy Halloween.

My cracktastic item is clips on YouTube from As the World Turns -- I am watching the last 3 months of soap operas' first gay supercouple, except with YouTube, you can watch 3 months' worth in an hour, and skip over the other story lines. Like a really blurry DVR!

Something nice about you is that when you are in search of cheering up, "cracktastic" is a legitimate category.

Well, our Islamic society has managed to arrange a women's only swimming session with a female life-guard, so I can swim for the first time in over ten years. I'll need a different swimsuit now that puberty has come and gone. And I may just invest in an Islamic swimsuit (http://img.alibaba.com/photo/11111833/Islamic_Swimsuit.jpg) (How cool are they?!) anyway.

You are super smart & 23423423 times more patient than I could ever be w/asshats! Also I love reading all your wacky rat stories.

Also I really appreciated you asking me to come to dinner @ WisCon! I tend to get all nervous & shy when it comes to actually making plans w/ppl other than my hotel roommates, so it's great when people pull me out of my own shell. ;)
