Heroes 1x15 Run!
Tue, Feb. 13th, 2007 12:53 pmI've been rather grumpy and stressed this week, so I think that's partially why I was a little grumpy with the episode.
For what may be the first time ever, I was also grumpy with Hiro. Hiro! I know in the end you were right, but Ando had some very good points, and you should respect his wishes sometimes too. I think the quest for the sword is boring me a little.
But I hope Ando turns out ok, because I like him and he and Hiro need to get back together and have a touching reunion.
I even got a little bored with Claire's story, though I sympathized with her a great deal. And I like that her birth mother isn't all rainbows and roses, but she's not evil either (unlike blonde Vegas woman). And oh, poor girl, listening outside with her heart in her eyes.
I loved the moment when she threw the rock at Nathan and then ran off; the entire scene was done really well, and it fit and felt real.
And oh, her mother, not recognizing Mr. Muggles! That hurt so much -- I think for Claire too. Hayden Panettiere really is very good. I can also see Claire being more hurt at her mother throwing things at Mr. Muggles that her mother forgetting her; being able to acknowledge but move past her own pain to sympathize with a dog who doesn't know what's going on.
I have to admit, Jessica is a whole lot more fun to watch than Niki. I think it is the lack of angst. Also, cool female assassin doesn't hurt.
I could have whapped Matt on the head for pocketing the diamonds. Why? You are a detective! What are you going to do with them? How are you possibly going to sell them? And being caught with them seems to be a million times worse than sucking up, tamping down your pride, and telling the officer in charge.
And Mohinder! You get something to do! That entire thing with Sylar was awesome, particularly the moments when Sylar really was enthusiastic and believed what he was saying. Duuuude.
On a more minor note, what can you do via melting toasters? Can that guy just take any solid object and render it into a pile of goop? Can he do it with human beings, or just metal? I guess Sylar can't do it with human beings, or at least not yet, else he probably would have melted poor Zane Taylor.
I am randomly hoping that Mohinder accidentally gets sucked down the path of evilness via his enthusiasm for special powers.
Must remember to dl next week's episode from Taiwan, yay! Cannot wait to see what will happen!
