Delurking day!
Mon, Nov. 24th, 2003 07:49 pmThere's a good Dawn fic out there called Umad Learns Sumerian that's quietly charming, informative, and a lovely little insight on Dawn. [ETA: fixed link. Yes, I'm stupid]
Gakked from Anneth: First real kiss: Um. Some drunken encounter. Not too proud of this one.
First job: Tutoring grammar.
First screen name: Lt. Noin, back in the GWing fandom days.
First self-purchased album: Wow, I don't even remember. I think it was Les Mis.
First funeral: My grandfather on my dad's side. I don't remember much, except it was noisy and strange and Buddhist.
First pets: Curiosity and Squeaky Clean, two white mice I got from one of those street fairs. I loved them very, very much.
First piercing: ears, on my 15th birthday.
First true love: The boy. Hi boy!
First big trip: Er, technically, when I was one month old, moving from Ithaca to Ft. Collins, CO. Honestly, I don't even remember when I started flying around.
Last big car ride: two years ago, on a spring break road trip from Princeton to Florida. Very fun.
Last good cry: Last week, what with the worrying and the being depressed and all.
Last movie seen: At the theater: Elf, which was surprisingly good and funny and heartwarming. Last movie seen anywhere, TTT EE.
Last beverage drunk: The inch of cider left in my cup from last night, about five minutes ago.
Last food consumed: A turkey avocado sandwich, a few minutes ago.
Last phone call: From my mom, again, from a few minutes ago.
Last TV show watched: In real time, Angel. On my computer, three eps. of Alias last night. Almost caught up now!
Last shoes worn: my beat up black Nine West boots. I love them to pieces. They look like it too.
Last CD played: Nipper's Christmas Songs. Shhhh.
Last item bought: my daily mint mocha.
Last soda drunk: Er. I don't know. I don't drink soda really. I guess it was probably one of those carbonated juice things.
Last ice cream eaten: vanilla gelato, from dinner on Saturday. Yummy!
Last shirt worn: gray, long sleeved sweater, with pretty beading.
And shamelessly stolen from

Tue, Nov. 25th, 2003 04:21 am (UTC)Since you recommended it, i'll bookmark "Rheanna's Vivere" to check out at some later date.
I think Connor gets less fic than Dawn, but i'm more interested in her than in him so maybe i just see more of her (plus there's much more canon of Dawn interacting with people, so it's much easier to jump off from somewhere, whereas Connor is a big loner, plus kinda unstable and thus difficult to write). I remember back in the day a lot of people (okay, it may in fact have only been a small group of people, but it stuck in my brain) were writing Dawn/Connor (http://www.livejournal.com/talkread.bml?journal=malisita&itemid=127347) and i was really intrigued. Summer stories have never really appealled to me as a genre, but i love all the post-"Chosen" stuff (as a genre).
I tend to not so much lurk as just procrastinate my ass off on friendsfriends so i often leave comments titled "got here via /friendsfriends" since i like knowing where people find me and feel i should extend the same courtesy to other people. I'm not intimidated to leave comments on anyone, though this may be related to being so used to a relatively equal playing field with "authority figures."

Tue, Nov. 25th, 2003 04:27 am (UTC)Oh I love Vivere. It probably feels a little outdated now, because it was written around S2 Angel, but I love it. She also has a really good C/A fic titled Another Life written as Inamorata.
Yeah, personally I love Dawn much more. I think it's the whole sisters thing that gets to me (have a little sister). I haven't yet seen a Dawn/Connor carried off in a way I liked, but then, I haven't read much at all.
I keep forgetting about friendsfriends! I think now that I graduated, much less free time for LJ, sadly. I used to check it every three seconds back when I was writing my thesis, hee.

Tue, Nov. 25th, 2003 04:46 am (UTC)I think i identify with Dawn more plus find her more sympathetic, and don't mind reading about her issues whereas Connor's issues creep me out.
Oh there are definitely times when i barely have time to keep up with my own LJ list (and when i am so very glad for filters, especially Sundays when i have loads of work and drabbles fill the page) but then there are times like tonight when my work feels doable enough that i spend far too much time not doing work.
