I feel so pressed for time still, worse now that my computer has died. Before at least I could check up LJ and do email while the boy was doing homework, but now I can't even do that because he takes the computer. So when he's done and wants to do things with me, I am dying to access LJ and whatnot. Is this bad? Except, for me, it's socializing. It's nice interacting with minds that are not the boy's. Backlogged at 100 or so on the reading list again, sigh, and apparently a cool new community discussing genres (genreneeps? genreneep?) has sprung up, with links I desperately want to read. Then there are the million books I want to read, and catching up on news and the world around and etc.

Cool things at work: looked up prices today and in the stacks were Schodt's Manga! Manga!, one of the first books on manga in English, still a classic, and something I pored over word for word for the thesis. It was strange seeing it in paperback. Then right after that was a book we had used as a textbook in one of my EAS history classes. My separate lives are butting together.

War of the Flowers is going slowly, especially since I am getting distracted by loads of non-fiction. I haven't picked up anything yet, but I've found books on deaf history/society/linguistics in my section which look fascinating, studies on college education and what it does, stuff on Internet culture, fashion, marketing and society, and etc. Ah, the pains of working in a bookstore ;).

I also valiantly resisted buying Angel S2 DVDs used for $30 today. After checking prices online, I think I may succumb tomorrow, sigh. Also found a new deck of the Froud's Faerie's Oracle and tagged it in the store, as though I need more decks.

Herein ends the update.
