Knit-blogging
Thu, Oct. 19th, 2006 04:19 pmI haven't been blogging about knitting for a really long time now. Part of this is because I really haven't finished anything since last Christmas, and I forgot to take pictures of the things I did finish last year (grey cabled scarf for dad). And yet, I have been knitting!
The only problem is, once I finish the knitting and get to the seaming/blocking/weaving in ends part, the projects languish in my closet, perpetually unfinished. My list of Nearly Finished Objects includes:
- purple scarf for sister
- black boatneck
- tiny crocheted top
- cap-sleeved ribbon top
And I am also working on a lace scarf in non-laceweight yarn, a cabled scarf, a ribbon tank top left over from summer, and an insanely complicated crochet cardigan that will take me five years to finish.
The other thing is, I'm not knitting as much as I was last year. Usually I knit while watching TV and playing with rats because I am a crazy insane multitasker who cannot stand to do just one or two things when I could be doing eighteen. But the baby ratties are so hyper and crazy and escape-prone that I really haven't been able to knit while I play with them, and playing with the baby ratties and Fool-rat takes priority. Especially playing with Fool-rat -- the baby ratties beat him up, so he's in his own cage and just hangs out by himself. I think he's lonely =(.
But! I am now in a new knitting craze, mostly likely spurred on by the onset of fall and fuzzy yarns and an insane wish to knit people holiday presents. Like every year, I will probably fall drastically short and end up giving out scarves in the middle of July.

Fri, Oct. 20th, 2006 08:13 pm (UTC)I'm a total sucker for random balls of yarn on sale to make into scarves, despite never making that many scarves.
