I love my iPod soooo much ^_^.

One of the cool bits -- when I import my CDs, it somehow gets the info for my Chinese and Japanese CDs online! I don't have to painstakingly transliterate or translate all the titles or look at gibberish! Not on that, but it does it in the original language, without any prompting at all.

Very cool.

Buffy 4x12-4x13, spoilery up through S7

I also have started up watching Buffy S4 again (I keep watching it in bits and pieces, but continuously). Just saw A New Man and the I in Team (first half of ANM and all of I in Team for the first time). I love love love the part when Ethan is threatening vengeance on Giles and Giles comes back in. But the best scene ever is Fyarl-Giles chasing Prof. Walsh around. The boy was rolling around on the couch laughing, so that really says something ;).

I've decided that in the end, despite kind of wanting to root for the unliked fan underdog, the Initiative is really dumb. And sadly, Riley in the Initiative is really not my thing. I liked him in the beginning as dork boy who spat out things about cheese and was awkward, but I don't like him all competent and commandy and soldiery. He was cute before, but he's kind of annoying now, like they need Buffy to have a boyfriend who can compete with her or something. And it totally rubs me the wrong way when Riley says he's going to learn to kick her ass. I was yelling at the screen, "Yeah right!"

You know, I think Buffy gets into higher and higher positions of control in her romantic relationships -- Angel was very much the adult in their relationship, and Buffy wasn't making all that many of the calls in that. Watching her and Riley looks like two top dogs arguing over one bone. And then she ran roughshod over Spike (nyargh, I feel like I'm getting into all sorts of iffy territories on the attempted rape and blame and etc.). But the general feeling in S6 and S7 that I got was that Buffy was the one calling most of the shots -- Spike could try to persuade her or manhandle her, but if Buffy didn't want to... okay, again, getting into iffy territory. Sigh.

I think I'm just going to go to bed before I stick my foot further down my mouth.

Very cool indeed. Smile.

IPod batteries?

I was completely taken with my son's iPod when he visited at Christmas, being able to play songs from it on all the radios, etc. Wow! I'd get one, even a new hard drive to support it, but someone told me that when the battery dies you have to get a new one--can't replace. I know you can recharge, I mean when it won't take a charge any more. Is that true?

Battery? What battery? It's basically a recharge. It's only been a couple of years since this has been out but I haven't heard of an iPod not charging. You don't have to hook it up to your computer to charge either. It comes with a wall charger. I'm not sure what your friend might have been talking about.

iPod is a way cool thing. I love mine and I'm always looking for the new accessories for it. That and I'm always swapping music with friends.

And with the later part of this entry, I agree that Buffy's relationships changed with each subsequent pairing until she was the one calling the shots mostly. But I won't go any further than that, as it would seem that I would be assigning blame and such to the parties involved.

Not alone ;-)

Not sticking your foot in your mouth at all - if it makes you feel any better, I felt exactly the same way. I completely lost sympathy for the character after S6-7....and I can't say more about it online without sticking my own foot in my mouth, people are touchy about this. ;-) But I agree with everything you stated in your post and completely understand your fear of expressing these feelings online without being misunderstood.
