Just watched it again.
And I started leaking the moment Buffy says "Champion" and Spike looks crestfallen. And it just went downhill for me from there. I leaked at every single Anya/Xander interaction. I leaked when Dawn kicked Buffy. I leaked during the huge voiceover and especially when Buffy says "Are you ready to be strong?" as the camera stops on the girl with the baseball bat, who you just know is going to smash the ball right out of the ballpark. I leaked when Willow went whitehaired, when all the girls felt the power through them. I leaked at Anya, finding her courage and holding up her sword. Then I completely lost it in the shot with Xander in the background looking for her. Then I lost it again when Spike starts feeling the amulet. I leaked more at the entire Buffy/Spike scene at the end, and especially when he says, "Besides, I want to see how it all ends." That's my boy. Then I completely lost it and just bawled when Xander asks Andrew about Anya.
And now I need to recover. I think this episode actually topped the Gift and the Body on my crying scale, for some reason.
Now I must make myself an Anya icon.
