Hee. Have now seen Storyteller for the second time, and it's still hilarious. "We are goooooods!"

I read somewhere that Buffy is something of a redemption story, I guess a lot like Angel, where people are taken back into the fold. I'm glad Buffy is still holding onto Andrew, even though he's probably annoying as hell to her and everyone else, a bit of a threat, and whiny to boot. I liked Andrew a lot before this episode, even when he was the stupid geek who rocketed into the roof, but after seeing this, I can see how he would be a character in a spinoff, if there is one. I really adore Andrew. The boy thinks he's pretty annoying, but for some reason, I'm very fond of his complete and utter geekiness, probably because it kind of reminds me of myself. And he's not a bad kid, at heart, unlike Warren. He's just very stupid and very willing to follow anyone who'll tell him what to do. Which, I think, is a lot like most people. Banality of evil and all. And he's trying his best to atone, but of course, being Andrew, he has to make up an epic story on his atonement and redemption, kind of trying to make himself into Spike.

I especially loved this episode because it was absolutely hilarious (Andrew mouthing Anya's lines... boy so has a crush on Xander, his replays of what happened, "In my plan, we are beltless"), but in the end, it still showed Andrew how silly and how useless his fantasies were. In the end, he's still a follower who killed his best friend because he couldn't say no. And he probably does deserve to die, but then, who among the Scoobies by now doesn't? I also liked actually seeing something of Buffy's mindset at the moment, beceause her speechifying was definitely making her a bit unsympathetic. She doesn't know what to do. She's scared out of her mind. She can't protect everyone; she doesn't even know where to start. And things just seem to be getting worse.

I think in the end, Buffy might just have been willing to bleed Andrew if the tears hadn't worked. She's much grayer now, she's not the hero she used to be. And personally I think her whole "I am the law" thing from Selfless is going to bite her in the ass soon. I'm taking her justification for dechipping Spike as the theme to Buffy right now... "You can't fight evil by doing evil."

Anyway, just rambling on the episode, nothing coherent so far. Also loved the ending, going right back to Hush! Andrew, who's annoyingly (to some) verbose, can't think of anything to say anymore.
