Veronica Mars 2x07-2x09

oyceterSpoilers for all three eps, since I watched them in a row and can't keep them straight!
2x07-2x09
1. Dead rat in the freezer! Wah! I am so traumatized!
2. Ok, right, is important clue. Still. *sniffs for poor dirty rattie*
3. Ok, really, getting off the minor rodenty details that no one but me cares about. Meg, pregnant! Is that what Duncan found out in the letter?
4. I miss Wallace. Luckily, I do not miss Jackie. Doesn't Keith miss Alicia? I do.
5. I really liked the Trina Echolls mystery, and wow, the vice principal was being all sneaky! I was wondering why he just randomly pulled Veronica into detention, but it all makes sense now!
6. I dislike the rescue of Veronica by Logan from the Irish gang. I dunno. I know it's pretty unusual for Veronica to be rescued, but it still rather irritates me that she was put in that position. I think it's because I feel like Veronica's feeling less independent this season.
7. Every time I feel bad for Logan because of crappy things that happen to him, he reacts in a way that makes me want to shake him. Taping people to the flagpole is not a healthy defense mechanism!
8. I like the dirtiness of the warfare between Logan and the 09ers and Weevil and his gang. Neither of them are innocent, and they all resort to methods that I find very real and very disturbing (why set things on fire? Why? Isn't there a better way to deal with things that doesn't involve matches?)
9. So... Meg's dad was abusive? I hope that the baby is not incestuous. I feel like VMars has become much more soap-y =(.
10. Wow, Lamb actually has a spark of decency! Go Lamb!
11. I find that I'm disliking the direction of the season. Meg's surprise pregnancy feels a little too soap opera for me, but my main problem is the shift in focus to the 09ers. There were 09ers in the equation before during S1, but I always felt like VMars dealt with non-09ers in depth. This year, especially with the emphasis on the Casablancas family, who I dislike very much, the focus feels like it's on the poor, mistreated 09ers. Or something.
I don't think that the show is portraying them in a good light, but I do sort of resent that everything so far seems to be from the 09er POV, from the bus crash to the mystery of Felix's murder (that one less so, thankfully), to the mysteries of the week. Dick and Cassidy and Logan and Duncan and Meg are all getting much of the spotlight, while we don't get to see much into the inner lives of non-09ers, with the exception of Veronica and Wallace. And Wallace has disappeared for a bit, and he's now dating Jackie.
I have been happy with the appearances of Mac and such, but I wish that there were more about the non-09ers, like there was before. Now, even when they show things about Weevil and his gang, it's in light of an 09er event (aka, is Logan innocent or not?). The deck feels sort of stacked, and while it makes sense in terms of the story and Veronica trying to get her old life back, I find myself being rather irritated with the fact that the minorities and those with less money being shunted from a TV show, esp. one that really focused on those issues.
