Ah, smart person as I am, I seem to have posted my post with icon and subject line, but without, say, actual content. And then I deleted the actual content that I did write.

Herein follows an approximate rewrite.

2x02 Driver Ed

Meg is still alive? Hrm, not sure how I feel about that one. I'm glad we'll get to see more of her, but it seems to be a bit of a cop-out to save the one character with a name who was on the bus.

On the other hand, now the Veronica-Meg interactions will be even more interesting!

I felt very bad for Jessie.

I'm not sure if I like Jackie or not yet. People with giant chips on their shoulders seem to interest me less these days. On the other hand, I want to see more with her brother (father? heh? was confused).

Also, Wallace! Wallace being detective! Even though I missed how he narrowed it down to the girl with the green car and what the note was about and what happened with the police anyhow (rats being naughty), Wallace being detective was still cool!

I wish Veronica and Duncan would talk a wee bit more about the conclusion to "A Trip to the Dentist." Or maybe their not talking and having sex is the point...? I mean... it just seems that a) believing you've slept with your sister an entire year or b) believing you've been raped an entire year or c) finding out that you had sort of mutually consensual but still drugged sex or d) all of the above would be pretty disturbing and a topic of conversation. Or... really deep mutual repression, or something. Or maybe just no one really talks to each other in Neptune. Veronica's definitely not the most open person ever.

Logan-Kendall is still extremely disturbing. Logan and Mr. Casablancas and Dick shooting guns is also very disturbing. I have small hopes for Beaver, who may somehow get out of weasliness, but still want to thwack Dick on the head with a very large stick.

coffee_and_ink had a very good point about all the mother figures being either evil or dead, which is now really annoying me (this is why I stopped watching Alias -- I was really sick of every single female who wasn't Sidney being either evil or dead). Hrm, I wonder if this means Alicia will get killed. =(. I hope not! I like her!

I was sad that the Logan and Felix mystery didn't really get explored, but at least there was mention of the biker whose name I can't spell and the continual implication of the class divide with the bus driver, with the question of the bus not being maintained properly. And of course, the fact that the 09ers all got to live, even Meg who was on the bus.

And Keith is running for sheriff! I wonder if that means the press will get all in the Mars' dirty laundry.

The students saw a blonde with a green car. When he talked to the reporter at the convenience store, he recognized the reporter's notepad paper as the same sort of paper used to write the note on Jackie's car. So he then went about figuring out with blonde student with a green car was actually an undercover reporter (a la Drew Barrymore in Never Been Kissed).

I think there will be fall out from the failure of Duncan and Veronica to process what happened last year; I think you can tell that by the way Veronica slunk from the room.

I'm beginning to sort of like Beaver. He's still a weasel, but at least he's a less-stupid weasel who makes jokes about knitting.

Ohhhhh! Aha! And I thought for some reason that Wallace took a page from the reporter's pad so that he could see from the pencil imprints what he had been writing!

Ok, that makes a lot more sense now.

I doubt it. And to be fair, I can't think of many good father figures, either, except Keith. I mean ... Aaron Echolls, Jake Kane, Dick Casablancas Snr, Wallace's dad. Steve Guttenberg also seems too good to be true. I may be missing examples, but I'm getting more of a 'kids taking care of themselves' vibe than anything else.
