oyceter: Stack of books with text "mmm... books!" (mmm books)

This is it. I have officially been sucked in. I have borrowed up to book five already, and I'm worried because books 6, 7, 8 and 9 are not in my hand thisverymoment.

This might have been even funnier than book one, and I wasn't sure if that was possible. Kenny's a much less scary villain than Ramirez, but he's pretty insane.

I was hugely amused by the Buick and the hamster being potentially dead, but the real set piece has got to be the chopped off penis and the reactions invoked in the Plum family. That, and leaving Morelli hanging in the middle of the street. Hee hee hee.

I continue to appreciate how Stephanie is not Sherlock Holmes or any of those other famous detectives -- she's got no idea half the time what she's doing, her hair is awful, and she's scared of her own gun. And the other half the time, she's scared out of her mind.

Smart and hilarious I can always live with.

Buick! And I still laugh when I read the hamster being dead scene. Vampire hamsters. You know, I even named my goldfish Rex after reading those books. We had one spare goldfish without a name, and everyone was casting about for a good one. I was in the middle of - I think Two for the Dough, and I suggested Rex, and it stuck!

I wish I had started reading the books from the first one on. I grabbed one of the ones in the middle first and got hooked that way. I keep meaning to go back and read the early ones but I haven't gotten around to it. And don't forget to read Visions of Sugar Plums. It's sorta set in the continuity. You don't have to read it to know what's going on in the later books but it's fun. I think it's set right before the current book so you should wait until you've read the others first.

Oooh...I scent a very addicted Oyceter...I like.

Seriously, I'm buried under lousy white stuff here which I have get dug out from to get to a board meeting (why is that not much of a motivator?)

I will definitely be back later!

Morelli... Mmm, there's a motivator.
