More woe

As I told someone yesterday, I didn't just have a Monday yesterday. I've been having about two months of Mondays.

The List of Woe

  1. Job stuff.

  2. Fool-rat's condition isn't much improving with the antibiotics or the ear drops. Thankfully, he is still relatively active for an elderly rat; he eats (a lot) and nests and destroys paper boxes. On the other hand, despite his ok-ness right now, I should probably be preparing myself for brain tumor territory.

  3. Job stuff.

  4. I got into a minor car accident Friday morning; nothing was damaged, no one was hurt. But I still must deal with insurance, especially as the guy is claiming injury. Of course, it was all my fault (I rear-ended him).

  5. Job stuff.

  6. I am allergic to Allegra. I discovered this via a horrific rash and am still picking at the scabs.

  7. Job stuff.

  8. I locked myself out of my car on Monday. Sadly, my car is one of those models which have RFID keys, which means you can't jigger it open and instead have to replace the entire lock system. Also, I don't have AAA. I got someone to take me home and took Caltrain to work in the morning with spare key in tow. Unfortunately, the Caltrain by my place has no signs pointing to where you can go. I circled five blocks twice over and managed to finally find the ticket stand and catch a train. Of course, I caught an express train that missed the stop I was going to get off of. I got off another stop and tried to catch a bus to work, except all the bus stops are so poorly labelled that I didn't find the bus I was supposed to take until five seconds after it left the stop.

Naturally, it was the last bus of the morning.

At this point, I said, "Screw it!" and took a cab.

Upon getting into work, I discovered that I had not just a spare key in my purse, but the original key as well.

  9. Job stuff.

  10. I was so tired last night that I fell asleep on the sofa while Fool-rat was still on it. I woke up in a panic this morning, as Fool-rat was no longer on the sofa. I thought I had squashed him, or he'd fallen off and chewed on electrical wires or something, and I was particularly worried (read: completely overwraught with panic) because he still has his head tilt and his hind legs don't work so well any more. After turning the place upside down and calling in late to work, I finally found him in a closet, happily asleep under a hat.

  11. Job stuff.

  12. I am so tired that I feel I have nothing good to blog about except complaints about my life. I am not even interested in knitting, and I am too tired to read. I am overweight and only fit into three or four of my pants and skirts combined and am therefore always short on clothes for work. And I feel like I have no time because I either work late, or because I'm so exhausted from work stress by the time I get home that all I can do is collapse.

  13. And, of course, job stuff, job stuff, job stuff. Will not go into detail here, but suffice to say, everything is insane, I cannot find my ground, and... everything is insane.

Stuff to look forward to:

  1. NYC over Labor Day weekend.

  2. Getting furniture in September.

  3. Italy in late September.

  4. Yaoi-Con and Rachel (?) in October.

  5. Watching a silly dance movie on the weekend with friends.

  6. Dinner with friends on Friday.

  7. Possibility of eating at Chez Panisse next weekend.

I think I am too tired for advice, though I thank people for the thoughts. I'm dealing ok outwardly, which is to say that things are getting done. I am simply exhausted and out of emotional resources, and there looks like no end in sight.
