A little bar on the rat cage broke so that the door now apparently doesn't always stay latched. I walked in this morning to find the door wide open, with the rats thankfully still asleep inside. I walked in a few minutes ago after work to find the door wide open again.

Most domesticated rats ever.

Heh. Our dog won't stay *in* her crate when the door comes open, but she'll go in of her own volition: when she thinks we _ought_ to be leaving for the day or going to bed, or (as today) when it's raining hard and she doesn't want to go for a walk. In the later case, she goes _all the way to the very back_ in hopes of keeping us from dragging her out.

It's really pathetic in a cute kind of way.

Hee! The funny thing is, Fitz-rat did make an attempt at freedom last year when the cage door was open. I think he gave it up for food.

Maybe he's decided that the energy really just isn't worth it when I give him treats anyway!
