This is insane... I am friending random people on LJ because they are Stargate fans, and desperately hunting for fic recs.

I think I am definitely obsessed now.

Need a way to get my hands on Season 2 very soon!

Mostly good gen fic... I've kind of ventured into the shipper/slash, but I've found that right now, the characters I see in my head from first season aren't quite as angsty or romantic or whatnot... although this obviously can change in the next six seasons or so.

I absolutely adored everything Rheanna wrote, and mostly I'm looking for fics that read like episodes that also kind of explore the SG-1 team dynamic.

Have you found CL Kamnikar yet? She wrote two pieces that I can recall off the top of my head: Eurydice Ascending and Sonambulist. Carrie wrote a genfic called The Soul Senses that really has a nice team dynamic. ELG has written some decent gen at times. The one that I generally recommend is Ripples, which is an episode tag for Shades of Grey (reading an episode synopsis should give you enough information to enjoy the fic). Overall, her stuff is a bit touch and go for me, but I did like what she did with this one.

I think all of these can be found on Heliopolis. Carrie's may also be on the Novel Archive.

If you dip into slash again (or even go searching for more gen), I would recommend Destina Fortunato's rec page at http://www.lyricalmagic.com/faves.html

She leans more towards slash but she has some gen recs in there as well. I also like her slash exactly because it's not center stage. She is well aware that there are a lot of interpersonal dynamics on SG-1 and her writing of each team member is very well done.

Ooo thanks very very very much! It's always kind of weird finding my way around a new fandom, especially since most of the Buffy people don't seem to watch Stargate.
