Finally got to see the movie, and I was also a bit miffed at how the Hans dynamic worked out--here's an actually effective ruler-type person for once and he turns out to be... evil?! Really? That's just telling us that incompetent people are "better" people, which is kind of not cool. There was also just so much chemistry between him and Anna, so even though I went in knowing that this plot twist was going to happen, I still felt a little mad.
I was also kind of not-exactly-thrilled with Kristoff being an orphan raised by trolls, although I do like how they kind of downplayed it and didn't try to make him ~super special~ for having been brought up by non-humans. (And, someone did this fan re-work of Kristoff to make him look more Saami so white!Kristoff doesn't do anything for me.)
And of course, ARRGGHH can we have a movie that isn't based on people hiding from each other only to have a sudden rush of love happen!!!
