I highly recommend it! The anime ends around volume 6 or so of the 22-volume series, so there's a LOT more content. A lot of the themes that the series explores are there in the anime, but they're fleshed out much more in the manga, and the manga's ending is incredibly powerful. It's one of my favorite series.
