Partial triumph!

[livejournal.com profile] yhlee! I went to the class session tonight, and I think I am mostly ok, though still not entirely clear. Thankfully, it has proved there are at least 8 other people in the class just as confused as me, and possibly even more so.

Also, now I know I have been thinking math too long, because I was sorely tempted to put "at least 8 if not more" in mathematical notation and attempt to solve for something. Clearly my brain has been fried.

I am even starting to remember what an integer is and how exactly it works with these things (O closed nature of multiplication, addition and subtraction of integers, how I love you!).

Rest of LJ who does not care, fear not, as soon as I get this stupid problem set done and turned in (possibly even on time and without using one of my saved up late days), I will post food porn pictures and food porn descriptions from Taiwan.

And then I will keel over and read insane amounts of manga in bed over the weekend, because damnit, I have earned it! Dirty dishes be damned!
oyceter: Stack of books with text "mmm... books!" (mmm books)
Er, I may spam LJ in the vain attempt to relax after about six straight hours of doing Problem Set of DOOM.

I liked this, but not as much as the first book, Point of Honour, but that's because the twists near the end weren't as shocking or as personal for Sarah as they were in the first. Thankfully, Robins doesn't lose sight of the impact the events of the first book have on Sarah, and the new recurring character is quite fun and noble and upright in a good sort of way.

On the other hand, I'm not quite sure how I feel about the ending.

Spoilers for this book and Point of Honour )

Anyhow, despite my qualms, I like that Robins is writing intelligently, looking at consequences, and not forgetting the events of the first book.
