*sigh*

Stuck at work. At least I have Friday off so I will have a long weekend.

Found a local yarn store, which had a bit of a sale going on. So now I have eight balls of Cotton Cashmere, four each of teal and light green. They're very soft and pretty, except I just sort of bought them spur of the moment because they were relatively cheap. And now... I have not enough yarn to make anything useful! Go fig.

Er. What exactly does one do with eight balls of DK yarn and no pattern? I sort of want to make a two-colored baby blanket or something, but have no idea....

Oooo...cashmere...

Well, one could always do a striped blanket, or you could use two skeins of each color to make a square and then sew them together like a 4-square checkerboard if that makes any sense.

Or hold together a strand of teal and a strand of green and knit them like that.

You probably have enough for a scarf and possibly a hat in each color, more if you mix them in stripes or something. You could also probably get either a tank top or a shrug/cropped sweater out of it depending on how you used the colors.

If any of these options sound good I could help you figure out a pattern. Since you're getting reacquainted with knitting, the baby blanket or scarf option might be best, but if something with more shaping is really sounding good, go right ahead! The best way to learn is just to do it.

Heh, my response exceeded the lj character limit. So I posted it in my journal here (http://www.livejournal.com/users/chi_zu/16527.html).
