Coolness!

My boss' son apparently got an audition for Joan of Arcadia! Also, in even more cool news, my boss and his wife and another co-worker at the bookstore are all JoA fans!!

In other news, I'm starting to feel very nostalgic already about quitting. I mean, I knew this would happen -- I get nostalgic for everything, including my poor little first apartment with the cabinet doors that never closed right. But I shall feel good in the knowledge that it is just down the street so I can visit (and buy stuff) whenever. And that co-worker friend may actually turn out to be social friend with whom I can hang out with, which is extremely of the good. My god, I may actually be developing an offline social life.

I also realized I have a frightening 129 people friended, not including various RSS feeds, communities and whatnot. It's getting to the point in which I stay at my computer all day to keep up. So I'm starting to consider a cutdown of the reading list, given time constraints and the desire to do other things besides read my computer screen all day. Except I feel sort of bad about this, because I like friending everyone who friends me. Hrm. Will have to contemplate further.

Give filters a try. Then you can just do a "today I'll scan through the journals of my old school friends" or "today I'll see what the folks on the atpo board are up to" or whatever. You can read your filtered friends list by going to "Journal"-->"Friends..." and click on the "..."

I might end up doing that, or cutting down. Not sure yet -- I figure even with filters I will end up getting sucked into a lot of LJ time anyhow.

I used to feel guilty about it, then realized that sometimes there's a lot of content that is not of great interest to me, and one must juggle time. If you need to unfriend me, for example, that's totally okay. :-) Although if the filters thing is appropriate/useful, it sounds like a good thing to try.

Yeah... it's also interesting because various Buffy people are getting sucked into random fandoms, so our interests are diverging.

And am not unfriending you -- hee, I rely on the webreadings to find assorted interesting posts that I would otherwise miss. And even if they were gone, your posts are too interesting to miss!

I find filters really helpful -- it's also actually easier for me to catch up on everyone if they're divided into, say, Buffy Fandom, People From College, Writer Stuff, whatever, than if they're in one big undigested lump on the flist. I do recommend a filter for your RSS feeds -- I did one for the mp3 blogs I feed and it made a big difference.

Thanks for the advice! I may do some combination of cutting down on the FL and filters or something.
