Um. I suspect I would have liked this more if I'd actually been interested in learning how to do some magic tricks. Alas, I am not. Mostly I just want to know about stage magic and magic history and the like.
This book doesn't have much of that; most of the tricks here are very simple ones involving cards and writing on mirrors and etc.
Also, I suspect I disagree with Penn's politics, which makes the random opinion pieces in the book rather annoying, as I can't quite get enough background on why he thinks what he does to even argue with him in my head.
This is probably a good book if you do want to learn magic tricks; obviously, I was the wrong audience for it.
