Shiiiiny....
Sun, Dec. 18th, 2011 07:18 pmAlas, I spent this weekend doped up on cold medicine and waking up at weird hours of the morning to cough. Still v. annoyed to have missed friends in town this weekend, and seeing local friends I don't get to see that often (*waves at people*), but it's probably good that I didn't go in and contaminate things.
On the plus side, I did get to catch up a bit on figure skating during my few conscious hours, and was treated to Takahashi Daisuke in the NHK Trophy (ISU Grand Prix).
Short program, which sadly wasn't televised in the US:
(Commentary in Japanese, music is Vas' "In the Garden of Souls," which sounds vaguely cowboy-western-y to me.)
OMG I so want them to broadcast Japanese Nationals in the US, since the quality of skaters there for at least singles is probably just as good as general Europeans.
Long program, which I have already watched about three times:
(Commentary in what I think is Italian, music is Eddy Louiss' "Blues for Klook," a very jazzy, bluesy number that you don't tend to get as much in figure skating. Also, Takahashi was pretty good in Skate Canada, but he is just AMAZING here. I think this is up there with his 2007-08 short program, which is one of my favs.)
ILU, TAKAHASHI DAISUKE, ILU SO MUCH!!!!!!!! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Mon, Dec. 19th, 2011 06:23 pm (UTC)He's like what all those visual kei super stars want to express combined with Prince, isn't he?
He'd be a kick-ass ballet dancer if he wanted to, with that agility and presence.
Thanks for making me a fan (due to your squee posts in the Olympics I believe).
And all those streamlined muscles *wipes saliva off face*
