My Fair Lady, ep. 05-09

This continues to be a fun, fluffy watch for me. The fashions for Yoon Eun Hye's character can be amazingly ridiculous—the shoulder pads! the neon leggings! the leather butterfly vest thing I have no words to adequately describe—and I'm very much enjoying Yoon Sang Hyeon as Seo Dong Chan.
That said, I'm not sure I'd actually recommend this, since I know a large part of my enjoyment comes from the butler trope.
... I kind of love that there is such thing as a romantic butler trope.
Spoilers can be depended on
Alas, Tae Yoon isn't nearly as interesting as Dong Chan, and his fashionably ruffled hair has now turned into helmet hair. I also like that so far, the show hasn't been demonizing Tae Yoon or Eui Joo, even when they are at odds with the protagonists.
Plus, one of the big draws of the show for me is that it focuses on Hae Na's character growth. There is a lot of Dong Chan, of course, but I really like that by and large, he's helping her figure out how to lead the Kangsan Group and grow more self-sufficient.
We have also arrived at the revelation of Dong Chan's past. Hae Na's being rather cruel to him, but I found that an interesting reversal of the usual "the hero thinks the heroine has betrayed him and therefore acts like a total jerk." I'm hoping we will get more of Hae Na's secret angst in the form of her first love, but I'm not particularly betting on it. Then again, hopefully they've run out of angst for Dong Chan, so they will have to resort to that!
Mostly I just like watching Dong Chan and Hae Na together. They are so cute! And she is, of course, so clueless about how important he finds her! The sense of trust between them, despite their terrible meet-cutes, is the best part of the show, and it's the thing that makes the Big Misunderstanding going on right now more tolerable. That is to say, I do see why Hae Na feels so betrayed and sympathize with her.
Again, not the best drama ever, and yet I find myself eagerly anticipating each episode!
