Now that I am on DW and DW doesn't have a photo hosting service, I am experimenting with Flickr. Sadly, I can't figure out a way to embed individual pictures without going through all the code myself, which I am too lazy to do. (If anyone has a better suggestion, do let me know!)

If you click the "all sizes" button up at the top, it'll give you code to post the picture with a link back to the flickr page. It'll also just give you the image url, but technically their TOS says you have to link back. You'll still have to cut and paste the code for each picture though.

Yeeaah, I'm trying for something that doesn't involve cutting and pasting the code for every picture, especially since my Taiwan pictures are up to 100+ now...

Yeah, that could get more than a bit painful. Sadly, I haven't discovered anything better. I'll have to see if someone has suggestions. I wonder if there's a firefox plug-in?

Hrm, it seems as though "blog it" is only for individual photos? I'm looking for something that will post all the pictures in a set to a single blog post with the commentary I had typed up, much like LJ would do with all the photos you picked via tickyboxes.

You can "organize" and put a bunch of photos in a set, then view the slideshow for it and grab an embed code for the slideshow! Also too elaborate for just sticking in a few photos.

For doing individual photos you can stay in the screen that shows you all of the most recent ones. Then right click or control-click and you get a little hover menu where you can choose "copy image location" and then just go "

Yeah, I'm debating between doing embedded slideshows and... I don't know.

The problem with the individual photos thing is that my upcoming Taiwan set has 100+ photos, and I really don't want to click to each photo and copy image location and put in the code by hand. Mostly I'm looking for something like LJ had, where I can tickybox a ton of photos and get them with my comments and all the img src stuff so I can have posts like this: http://oyceter.dreamwidth.org/805238.html

two ways: Blog this (blogs direct to your journal). also click on your picture, sizes??? and embed codes will be at the bottom of the picture for each size you select

I checked in those, but it seems like those are more for individual pictures? I'm trying to get an entire set into a blog post without fancy flash stuff, sort of like my old photo posts: http://oyceter.dreamwidth.org/805238.html

So far, I can't figure out how to do that without going to every individual picture and getting the embed code for that picture, which starts to get annoying when you're posting batches of 50-100 pictures at a time...

Sorry to be all contrary when you're trying to help!

But mostly I am not trying to have an embedded slideshow or anything with fancy Flash and instead have each individual picture in the set show up in the post like:

Photo comments

img src photo
Photo comments

etc.

I clearly suck at explaining even in comments, which is why I've been having a hard time finding the answer on Google... I keep finding solutions that either let me post one single picture to my blog or embed a slideshow, neither of which is what I'm looking for.

try the word 'gallery' - that's closer to what youre trying to create than slideshow

I love Ren's bald spots! It is also super funny because Yoon was awesome and painted Ren for me, complete with his stripey bald spots!
