Huh. Y'know, I can't think of any romances that deal with race well, at least not off the top of my head.
Oh wait! Pearl Cleage. Her books are marketed more as "women's fiction," but she is a black writer who writes about race and gender issues. Sometimes I don't agree with her, but at least she is thinking. Most other romances that have attempted to look at race or even just included POC I have ended up chucking against a wall because I was so pissed off (see: Mary Jo Putney's The China Bride, Pat Gaffney's Crooked Hearts).
