Loot!

BWAHAHAHA! I got a ton of loot at the Strand today (and at the Strand Annex over the weekend) and I am going to rub it in everyone's faces and brag because I never manage to find manga on sale in California.

Loot ($2 for everything save the manhwa, which was $2.50):

• Mixed Vegetables, which I have never heard of but stars a daughter of a pastry chef who wants to be a sushi chef and the son of a sushi chef who wants to be a pastry chef.

• Forest of Gray City 2


• Goong 2


• Flower of Life 3 (from Forbidden Planet)


• High School Debut 5, which I'm not actually collecting, but hey, TWO DOLLARS!

And, bwahahahaha, half of them are not out on Amazon yet!

... now I know how coffeeandink must feel like all the time.

ETA: On the other hand, I didn't find an ARC of Octavian Nothing 2 and I forgot to look for one for Justine Chen Headley's new book.

It does! Although I have no idea how the stock there relates to the stock in the store, and I was probably wishful-thinking when it came to ARCs.

Flower of Life!! I love that and just recently read vol. 3, which I loved.

Eeee! Yes! Ok, there is one plot element in it that seriously bugs me, but otherwise, I love it so much!

...now I just need to get vols. 1 and 2. Oh DMP, why is your manga so expensive?

If it's the thing the finishes off the end of the volume, it squicks me (though I take heart in the fact that vol 4 will hopefully make it go away quickly!)

I think it just came out, because the company putting out the series went under, and Yen Press FINALLY picked up their titles and started putting things out recently. So now Goong and Forest of Gray City and Angel Diary and One Thousand and One Nights are finally resuming!

I might pick it up once I buy all the books that I already want- but, no income, and I owe my mother a thousand dollars for this computer I'm using ^^' AND GRR AT YOU. I WANT HIGH SCHOOL DEBUT 5. I can't even pick that up once I can find it here, because I need to buy number 4 first, which I have already read.

Did you find all of your manga bargains at the regular Strand or at the Annex? I passed by the Annex yesterday (inspired by your post) and didn't find too much in the way of anything left.

But congrats on finding all those titles. Sometimes the manga gods do smile on us :)

I found all these at the Strand, though when I went back yesterday, there wasn't as much left. They've still got copies of Forest of Gray City and Goong I think though.
