Well, I tend to be extremely strict when it comes to the behavior narratives expect me to accept from "heroes" in romantic stories, and Goong hits almost every wrong button it can in that regard. Kdramas in general (at least most of those I've watched or tried to watch) tend to go the "he has money and will save her from poverty and other financial troubles, and that and his angst justifies his behavior towards her."

I have the same problem with a lot of romance novels, not to mention a lot of shoujo. Though with shoujo, it's usually more bullying/being a wallflower/etc.
