Wow, KMT victory. This is going to be interesting, especially since there's a KMT majority in the legislature as well. I am still undecided as to my own politics re: Taiwan, so this is more of a deep "huh" from me.

He *seems* a sensible and reasonable guy - I'm actually surprised he got in.
I guess it mainly depends on who he's dealing with in China - Hu has also been very steady apart from this latest Tibet F%^&* up.
I didn't know this though (from Wiki): "For most of Hu's adult life he has been involved in the Communist party bureaucracy, notably as Party Chief for the Tibet Autonomous Region"...
