oyceterI have no idea what's going on with the story!
On the other hand, I don't care because the clothes and architecture are GORGEOUS. Just... gorgeous! And there are flying ships and spreads of Korean cosmology and maids who turn into birds and tattoos and did I mention the beautiful clothes?
I have no brain today, so everything under the cut is very mish-mash.
Soah kisses Mui/Habaek to give him the antidote. And he kisses her and calls her by his first wife's name!
I am grumpy about the Murah (is that her name? My book is at home and Wiki does not have an answer)/Soah rivalry. On the other hand, I don't care because it means more Murah, whom I love because she has a tattoo over her eye.
I also want more Murah backstory, because little!Murah is cute.
Also, tattoo over eye.
And Soah finds out about Mui/Habaek! Maybe. To find out for sure, she has to rip open their/his shirts to check out the tattoos. This means lots of lingering chest shots.
Also, Mui has a dragon tattoo.
And frequently is in a wet shirt.
Also, there are lots of full-page spread with flowing hair and gorgeous clothes and beautiful architectural details. Sometimes all of these are combined with a flying ship, which has the hanja for "fly" on the balloon.
I think some stuff happens re: the other cute guy whose name I don't remember and keep getting mixed up with goggles guy, despite the fact that one of them wears goggles and one of them does not (I leave you to decide which is which).
And there is a butterfly spirit thing.
But mostly, there are beautiful clothes and tattoos. Why haven't CLAMP or Yuki Kaori done lots of things with Significant Tattoos? Clearly this is an area of my id that should be mined.
Also, you just know Yuuko has a giant stylized tattoos of a butterfly across her back with the wings arching over her shoulder blades.
