Angel 5x12 You're Welcome

It felt a little like Awakenings from last year because it was so strangely happy. Except... it was happy. And they defeated evil Lindsey and cast out evil Eve.

Now what?

I liked the ep though for sheer nostalgia -- the old AI, Angel and Wes and Cordy in the hospital room, Cordy being her own ditzy, tactless self again (hurrah!) with only a few dips into sappiness. And Doyle! The real Doyle! Awwwww. And of course Lindsey and Cordy mentioning Darla.

I cheered when Cordy asked about Connor. Hopefully Angel is going to have some explaining to do. I also cheered when Cordy compared it to a mind rape of his closest friends. I also liked the Cordy and Wes scenes with the books, reminded me of To Shanshu in LA, and her apology for Lilah.

Loved Harmony and Eve. *snerk*

ETA: also loved the sheer Spikeness of Spike playing XBox

I could have sworn Cordy was going to throw herself on the big rising machine of doom ala Doyle.

I'm also one of the few people who don't really mind the C/A thing, probably because I read Rhenna's fic before seeing it actually aired. So that was ok with me. And I thought it was a good parting scene, kind of sappy, but not too much.

Unfortunately, sometimes I thought they were trying to resurrect old Cordy too much, but really, I don't mind that much compared to S3 and S4 Cordy. Also... it felt like the entire arc stood still to let this episode happen, even though this is when they find out about the Little Bads...

But now I am totally at a loss about the Big Bad and what's going to happen with the season arc!
