I was torn. The bad science annoyed me. How delighted he was and how much mileage he got out of it had me chortling.

Also, I think I could paraphrase the essence of uncertainty to your satisfaction (former math/cs lecturer, here). Lemme know if you'd like me to take a shot at that.
